What is the purpose and relevance of Vedas in our daily life that is filled with the quest for material desires? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.
Every being that lives in the world strives to possess what it desires and avoid what it dislikes. Know that the Veda instructs how to succeed in both these endeavours. That is to say, it lays down what has to be done and what should not be done. When these prescriptions and prohibitions are followed, one can earn the good and avoid the evil. Veda is concerned with both the material and the spiritual, both this world and the beyond. If the truth must be told, all life is Veda-filled. One cannot but observe its injunctions. Veda is derived from ‘vid’, which means ‘to know’. So Veda means and includes all spiritual knowledge (jnana). People are distinguished from other animals by the spiritual wisdom (jnana) with which they are endowed. Devoid of spiritual wisdom, they are only beasts. - Leela Kaivalya Vahini, Ch 2.

Какова цель Вед и в чех их актуальность в нашей повседневной жизни, наполненной поисками материальных удовольствий? Бхагаван с любовью напоминает нам сегодня.
Каждое существо, живущее в мире, стремится обладать желаемым и избегать того, что ему не нравится. Знайте, что Веды учат, как преуспеть в обоих этих начинаниях. Иными словами, в них указывается, что следует делать, а чего делать не следует. При соблюдении этих предписаний и запретов, можно получить благо и избежать зла. Веды касаются как материального, так и духовного, как этого мира, так и того, что лежит за его пределами. По правде говоря, вся жизнь наполнена Ведами. Нельзя не соблюдать их предписания. Веда происходит от «видья», что означает «мудрость». Итак, Веда означает и включает в себя все духовное знание (джняну). Людей отличает от животных духовная мудрость (джняна), которой они наделены. Лишаясь духовной мудрости, люди уподобляются животным. - Лила Кайвалья Вахини, глава 2.
